Nuremberg in the Rain

Friday was our most challenging weather day so far, but this crew is up to any challenge! On this day's agenda was a visit to Nuremberg by train (about an hour). The cool rain was intermittent, but our enthusiasm was not!

After breakfast we picked Christine up from work at 1:30 (we're almost adjusted to this 6-hour time difference) and headed to the train station to catch the 2:00 train from Kitzingen.

Getting there is half the fun:

But for some it is more fun than others:

Our neighbors were in good spirits with their high brow card games and fine aperitifs.

We arrived and walked around the city:

Mom looking sporty once again:

The kids are learning Dad's bad habits:

Renee turning the gold ring 3 times for good luck:

We found a little French cafe for a late snack before heading back to the train:

Nice girls:

Back on the train:

And the kaselaugenstange emerge again:

We capped off the day with a traditional German dinner in Dettelbach:

Sauerbraten, knodel and blaukraut was the right call!
